Trellis is a holistic pathway into full-time local church ministry.

Through a multi-faceted, comprehensive approach, we are equipping the next generation of church leaders to start new life cycles in churches around the world.

Our team is made up of practitioners who are passionate about equipping the next generation. Learn more about them here.

Through the 3 pillars of Empowering, Education, and Equipping, Trellis is seeking to intersect those God has called into ministry with the necessary training and resources they need.

We believe formal education is still a critical piece of shaping exceptional leaders. Here's our educational focuses...

INTERNSHIP

Young adults who have sensed a call into ministry can enter into a three-year internship gaining experience on a church staff while completing their undergraduate degree through any of our University Partners.

RESIDENCY

Adults who have sensed a call to plant a church or revitalize a dying church can enter into a two-year residency in which they will receive experience, mentorship, and complete their master’s degree through Anderson University or Mid-America Christian University.

ORDINATION

Additionally, individuals will have the opportunity to participate in Leadership Focus, the ordination pathway for the Church of God, Anderson.

It is a hard realization to face that 90% of vocational ministers do not last until retirement. Trellis is committed to providing relational encouragement, support, and mentorship. This is done through two basic concepts:

COACHING:
Trellis provides practitioners to coach and mentor each of our Trellis students as they answer the call to vocational ministry.

RELATIONAL NETWORK:
Trellis desires to not just help you start strong, but also finish strong. We are here to empower you to be an emotionally, spiritually, and relationally healthy leader. As you work through the Trellis Intern or Residency program, we aim to connect you to a larger community of church leaders who will continue to encourage and resource you in ministry.

It is important for you to go into ministry with as many tools in your tool belt as possible. In addition to the day-to-day skills and resources you will need to thrive in ministry, Trellis will train pastors for the multiplication of churches through church-revitalization and church-planting. One of the ways we do this is through financial support. Trellis will seek to provide ample funding and resourcing to those who finish a Trellis residency and are ready to plant a church through Trellis Grants.
